Retreats and Training Programs

Zen sesshin retreats are meditation intensives conducted in silence, where the student meditates upwards of ten hours per day. These retreats, the most serious expression of Zen training, are led by Sevan Sensei and last from two to seven days. Teisho is offered each day and dokusan several times per day.

Training programs are residential programs that are custom made for the individual and are less intense than sesshin.

Other Intensives are also offered, from one-day sittings, to weekends spent in silence and mutual support where a more relaxed atmosphere allows one to frame one's own practice in very individual terms. Other retreats may revolve around service to others, or chanting, or other modes of Zen work.

These vehicles of practice are available to members, and some retreats may be open also to non-members.
